- You should always start with the Siemens S7-Advanced driver in lieu of the model-specific drivers such as S7-300 Ethernet, S7-400, and so on. The Siemens S7-Advanced driver is faster and supports more data types.
- In cases where the Siemens S7-Advanced driver cannot establish a connection to a Siemens S7-400 PLC, you should use the model specific driver.
